The approved cities include Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Odisha has received financial sanction of Rs 88.16 crore under the scheme, with Rs 47.87 crore already utilized for infrastructure and related development works. The PM-eBus Sewa Scheme aims to deploy 10,000 air-conditioned electric buses across 116 cities in India to modernize urban mobility and reduce pollution. Officials stated that this initiative will enable several cities to transition to electric public transport for the first time.
