Chief Secretary Reviews Progress of BIMCGL Industrial Township in Gaya, Calls for Faster Execution.

Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, IAS, on Friday carried out an extensive on-ground inspection of the Bihar Integrated Manufacturing Cluster Gayaji Limited (BIMCGL) project site in Gaya, a flagship industrial township being developed under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC).

During the review, the Chief Secretary examined ongoing infrastructure works and directed concerned departments to accelerate the pace of execution. He stressed the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination and swift resolution of pending issues to ensure timely completion of planned components.

Officials briefed the Chief Secretary on the current status of major construction activities within the upcoming industrial cluster. The key focus areas inspected included:

Upgradation of NH-22 to bolster connectivity with regional and national logistics routes

Development of helipads to enable direct aerial access for investors and stakeholders

Strengthening power infrastructure through the Chandauti Grid

Construction of water reservoirs and laying of underground pipeline networks to support future industrial demand


Industries Secretary-cum-Managing Director, BIADA & IDA, Shri Kundan Kumar, made a detailed presentation showcasing BIMCGL’s digital masterplan. The layout envisions a world-class industrial city featuring advanced industrial corridors, planned commercial areas, residential townships, and extensive green zones, aligned with global standards of sustainable development.

Speaking after the inspection, the Chief Secretary underlined that BIMCGL will play a crucial role in shaping Bihar’s industrial future and attracting large-scale investments. He urged all agencies to ensure time-bound and coordinated efforts so that project momentum remains strong.

The inspection was also attended by senior officials including Shri Santosh Kumar Mall, Secretary, Public Works Department; Shri Manoj Kumar Singh, Secretary, Energy Department & CMD, BSPHCL; Gaya District Magistrate Shri Shashank Shubhankar; and other representatives from executing departments.

The BIMCGL industrial township is expected to become a major economic hub in Bihar, generating employment opportunities and promoting industrial growth under the national AKIC initiative.
