Ludhiana: Successful Completion of TB Champions Training Program
Ludhiana, November 29, 2024 ( Onkar Singh Uppal) The TB Champions Training Program, organized by TB Alert India, was successfully conducted in the Sahnewal region, training 35 participants associated with Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs). The training is part of the Impact India Project, which aims to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and eliminate misconceptions related to the disease at the grassroots level.During the program, TB Champions were trained to support and guide TB patients while conducting community awareness activities in schools, villages, and local governance meetings such as JAS, VHSNC, and MAS. They were also equipped with knowledge about reporting formats and strategies to help patients who have discontinued treatment resume their care. The training emphasized the importance of community involvement in TB elimination, with TB Alert India’s State Lead, Mr. Neeraj Sinha, and the Block Senior TB Officer highlighting the significant role TB Champions play in supporting patients and strengthening community-level interventions.This initiative marks a significant step towards TB elimination in the Sahnewal region, fostering a well-trained, empowered community to combat the disease effectively.
