Rahul Bairwa of Jaipur created history by climbing the world's highest mountain Mount Everest

Engineer Rahul Bairwa, an alumnus of Jaipur's Malviya National Institute, stood on the 8,848.86 m (29,032 ft) summit at around 6:44 am on 13 May 2022, becoming the first NIT alumnus to achieve this rare feat. Rahul is an outdoor teacher, athlete, high altitude coach and expedition leader, for the past 6 years he has been climbing, hiking, trekking and training continuously in the Indian Himalayas. Rahul is aiming to climb the highest mountains and tallest volcanic mountains in seven continents and he has already climbed Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain on the continent of Africa) and Mount Elbrus (the highest mountain on the continent of Europe), Mount Everest Third on the list was the highest mountain in Asia and the world.

"Rahul has also covered the peaks of 16.6 thousand meters and 2,7 thousand meters in the Indian and Nepal Himalayas" About the Everest expedition Rahul and his team took 45 days to complete the expedition. His team includes 2 Italian, 3 Spanish, 2 Georgian, 4 Indian, 1 American climber. He narrated his journey from Kathmandu and flew to Lukla, from there he started his trek to Everest Base Camp. They reached the base camp on 13 April and then started their circumambulation in the higher mountains for better adaptation. As Rahul told us, the hardest part during the turns was crossing the Kumbhu Snowfall, which is a fluctuating snowflake river and it can fall anytime so we have to walk at night and we have to be careful while walking through the snow. Does matter.

Rahul has seen 2 avalanches very closely and some snowflakes fell in front, it was really scary and challenging for Rahul. He started his last journey on 8 May and reached the top on the morning of 13 May. The walk to the summit was the most unforgettable moment, I could see the earth is round, every other peak was below us, all the clouds and the blue sky was so unreal, I was so excited to be on the summit and we got clear weather with strong winds ... as Rahul told us. Rahul comes from a very middle class family, his father works as a private employee and his mother is a housewife. It was really difficult for him to leave a well established job (Tata Steel BSL) and try to convert his passion into a profession. He did all this professional mountaineering and climbing courses, medical courses and leadership courses. For him Everest is the most important mountain to promote mountaineering and mountaineering in India.

Rahul was climbing Everest with a message that we should promote mountaineering as a profession in India and also be aware of the effects of global warming on our mountains and glaciers. Rahul has invested every penny of his savings, Rahul has done the crowdfunding and these seniors, juniors and batchmates of NIT Jaipur helped me in raising the total amount (more than 30 lakhs) for this campaign. I am really grateful to all of them. Rahul told that my future goal is to complete my Sven Peak project and climb virgin peaks in India so that I can promote Indian Himalayas more. I really want to work more as external teacher and I want to educate the people outside. I would also like to climb more than 8000 meters peaks and hoist my Indian flag. I hope in future I will get sponsor and government support for my upcoming projects.
