BJP MLAs Meet Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Department Over Irrigation and Drinking Water Crisis
​Jammu, June 8, 2026 — A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs met with the Chief Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department today to submit a memorandum regarding the acute shortage of irrigation and drinking water in several constituencies.
​During the meeting, the legislators highlighted the growing distress among local residents and farmers who are facing severe water scarcity. The MLAs urged the department to take immediate corrective measures, expedite pending water supply projects, and ensure equitable distribution of water resources.
​The Chief Engineer assured the delegation that the department is actively monitoring the situation and will deploy prompt solutions to resolve the irrigation and drinking water issues at the earliest.
