Mystery, Masks & a Grand Reveal: hoichoi Studios Unveils Cast of The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra



**Kolkata, June 2026:** Bengal's favourite detective is all set to return to the big screen as hoichoi Studios officially unveiled the cast of *The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra* through a unique and theatrical launch event. The film is scheduled for release during **Durga Puja 2026** and promises to be the most ambitious instalment in the popular Eken franchise.

The upcoming film will see **Anirban Chakrabarti** reprise his iconic role as Eken Babu, alongside franchise regulars **Suhotra Mukhopadhyay** as Bapi and **Somak Ghosh** as Pramatha. Joining the cast are acclaimed actors **Ritwick Chakraborty, Raima Sen, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Arna Mukhopadhyay,** and **Subrat Dutta**.

The grand reveal event featured a creative mask-unveiling ceremony inspired by Kerala's rich cultural heritage. Cast members appeared wearing specially crafted masks, which were removed one by one to reveal the ensemble, adding an element of mystery and excitement in true Eken style.

Directed by **Joydeep Mukherjee**, the film is based on a story by the late **Sujan Dasgupta** and written by **Padmanabha Dasgupta**. Set against the scenic backdrop of Kerala, the film blends mystery, suspense, action, adventure, and humour, taking Eken Babu into one of his most challenging investigations yet.

Speaking at the event, Anirban Chakrabarti expressed his excitement, stating that the new film explores a larger and more adventurous world for the beloved detective. Director Joydeep Mukherjee added that Kerala plays a crucial role in the narrative and that the film significantly expands the scale of the franchise while retaining its signature warmth and humour.

Production is expected to begin in **August 2026**, with extensive shooting planned across Kerala. With hidden clues, deepening conspiracies, and high-stakes intrigue, *The Eken: Kerala-e Kurukshetra* is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bengali films of the year.
