*Environmental protection is everyone's basic responsibility* *Nalco celebrates World Environment Day*

Damanjodi: In today's modern era, the world's environment is getting polluted day by day and its negative impact on the living world is spreading. Therefore, its protection should be everyone's basic responsibility, said the State Pollution Board officer Dipesh Biswal, who joined as the main speaker during the celebration of World Environment Day organized by Nalco. On the occasion of World Environment Day, a special program was organized under the direct supervision of Sanjay Kumar Patnaik, Chief General Manager, Environment Department, NALCO. In the beginning, NALCO Executive Director Amarendra Kumar Mishra joined as the chief guest and planted a tree. As the guest of honor, NALCO's Chief General Managers of various departments and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)'s Senior Commandant Satyadev Arya were present and planted a tree. Along with planting the tree, all those present in the program took the pledge to protect the environment. The program was organized by Horticulture Department Officer M R Rath and Sanjiv Kumar Kar among others. After this, an environmental awareness program was held at the NALCO auditorium. Students from various schools, families of NALCO employees, and leaders of the employee union were present. The program highlighted the need to eliminate single-use plastic, not drive unnecessary personal vehicles, not waste water, use electric vehicles or cycle, and continue efforts to plant enough trees.
