'International Buddha Peace Award 2026' and Special Reception Successfully Concluded in Kolkata

Staff Reporter, Kolkata: On Wednesday, 4th June 2026, a "Special Reception and Presentation of the International Buddha Peace Award 2026" was successfully organized by the Maitry Peace Foundation at the traditional 'Rabindra Tirtha Auditorium' in New Town, Kolkata.
​On behalf of the Maitry Peace Foundation, a special reception was accorded to Shri Dilip Ghosh, the Honorable Minister for Panchayats, Agricultural Marketing, and Animal Resources Development, Government of West Bengal. On this day, several eminent personalities were conferred with this prestigious award for their outstanding contributions to various fields of society.
​The Award Ceremony
​The main attraction of the award ceremony was the Honorable Minister of West Bengal, Shri Dilip Ghosh. He handed over the prestigious trophies to social workers, intellectuals, and successful individuals established in their respective fields. Standing on the stage, the dignitaries felt immensely proud as they paid their respects to the Minister and received the awards from his hands.
​Presence of Eminent Personalities
​This grand event by the Maitry Peace Foundation became a gathering point for social workers, professional personalities, and intellectuals. Along with the awardees, their family members and a large audience were present, adding grace to the occasion. Following the distribution of awards, a joyful cake-cutting ceremony was held on stage, in which the Honorable Minister Dilip Ghosh, along with all the attending guests and award winners, participated.
​Speech by Minister Dilip Ghosh
​After presenting the awards, Minister Dilip Ghosh delivered a brief yet significant speech. He stated:
​"The organization of such an International Buddha Peace Award by the Maitry Peace Foundation is highly commendable. Maintaining an atmosphere of peace in our state and country is of utmost importance. Today, people can speak their minds and freely practice their religious and cultural rituals—this is true peace."
​He further mentioned that maintaining the rule of law and peace in society is a responsibility that belongs to all of us. In conclusion, the event successfully concluded with the Minister applauding this beautiful initiative by the Maitry Peace Foundation and extending his heartfelt congratulations to the award winners.
