Sanitation Workers' Strike Poses Epidemic Threat in Udhampur, Administration Must Intervene Immediately: Tariq Shah

​Udhampur: The situation in the city has become highly alarming following the ongoing strike by sanitation workers for the past several days and the arrest of Sanitation Workers' Union President Devit today. Expressing deep concern over this grave crisis, Tariq Shah, President of the NGO "Jiyo Aur Jeene Do," stated that the entire city has turned into a garbage dump due to the lack of any alternative arrangements.
​Tariq Shah warned, "The accumulating waste and rotting filth across the city pose an imminent threat of an epidemic to the public. It is deeply disappointing that no efforts are being made by the administration or at any other level to tackle this crisis." He urged the district administration to intervene immediately given the health emergency, resolve the deadlock by discussing the workers' legitimate demands, and protect the city from severe disease outbreaks.
