Malkangiri BJD Submits Five-Point Demand to District Collector Over Sand Mafia

Malkangiri: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has raised strong objections against the rampant illegal sand trade and mineral resource exploitation in Malkangiri district. To halt these unlawful activities, the district BJD, along with its youth and student wings, met District Collector Prathamesh Aravind Rajasvirki and submitted a five-point memorandum demanding action against the sand mafia.

The BJD accused the mining department, police, and contractors of collusion in this sand corruption. They alleged that the nexus between the sand mafia and administration is causing the government to lose crores of rupees in revenue. Led by district BJD president Manas Madakami, the delegation included Biju Yuva Dal district president Srinivas Muduli, district student president Subrat Kumar Das, district editors K Rahul and Sadananda Khara, as well as local Panchayat leaders Sudarshan Kope and Debananda Khil, among others.
