Dilip Kumar insists that Priyank Kharge should continue as the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department

Devanahalli: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge is expected to get the status of Deputy Chief Minister. However, as per the wishes of all PDOs in the state, he should continue as the Minister of the RDPR Department, Dilip Kumar B.M., the state president of the PDOs Welfare Association, has demanded.

Dilip Kumar B.M., the state president of the Karnataka State Panchayat Development Officers Welfare Association, spoke to reporters.

Priyank Kharge said that many important, pro-people and administrative reforms have been implemented in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department after the Minister took charge of the department. Most importantly, sincere efforts have been made to implement a transparent and employee-friendly transfer system in the department, which has instilled confidence in the employees, he said.

He opined that the Minister has given priority to the work of strengthening rural local governments financially by implementing innovative tax software and systematic tax collection system to increase the financial capacity of Gram Panchayats.

One of the significant achievements of the Minister's tenure is the implementation of the digital library system at the rural level with the aim of promoting reading habit and knowledge development among the youth community. In addition, the development of online application and direct service systems for accounts and other services with the aim of getting various Gram Panchayat services at the doorstep of the public is a significant development, making public service delivery even easier and more transparent. There are still many important expectations on the part of the employees of the department, so he said that he hopes that there should be a permanent solution to the many years of problems related to the seniority rules of Panchayat Development Officers.

Similarly, the positive stance of the Honorable Minister regarding the upgradation of various posts in the department to Group-B posts has instilled greater confidence in the employees. Therefore, if the development and reform work started in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department is to continue continuously, we will request the designated Chief Minister to continue as the Minister of the same department along with the responsibility of the Deputy Chief Minister, said Dilip Kumar B.M, State President of the Welfare Development Association of Karnataka State Panchayat Development Officers.
