SH. SHIV KUMAR SHARMA IPS, DIG UDHAMPUR-REASI RANGE CONDUCTED A SECURITY REVIEW CUM COORDINATION MEETING AHEAD OF SANJY-2026


Udhampur 1st June 2026: To review security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Sh. l Defense. SSP Udhampur, gave a detailed presentation on security arrangements, surveillance measures, convoy management, QRT deployment and emergency response plans for SANJY-2026.
Addressing the officers, the DIG stressed maximum alertness, strict adherence to security protocols and pilgrim-friendly conduct during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026. SSP Udhampur is advised to strengthen security arrangements through regular inspection of Langars, lodgement centres and other Yatra-related facilities, while maintaining close surveillance over suspicious movements and anti-national elements. Officers present in the meeting were instructed to intensify intelligence generation, promptly share actionable inputs and maintain close coordination with intelligence agencies and other stakeholders to ensure a robust and proactive security grid.
The DIG emphasized strengthening surveillance and response capabilities by intensifying drone-based monitoring, deploying Dog Squads for anti-sabotage checks at vital installations and Yatra locations and ensuring the operational readiness of QRTs. He also stressed seamless inter-agency coordination among Police, CAPFs, Civil Administration, Traffic Police, Health Services and other departments, with a focus on prompt information sharing, joint preparedness and effective response to any exigency. Project Director, NHAI Udhampur is advised to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of National Highway and to keep adequate men, machinery and emergency restoration equipment strategically positioned at vulnerable locations for prompt response and early restoration of traffic in case of any exigency.
Special emphasis was laid on securing the National Highway and Yatra routes through round-the-clock domination, naka checking and area patrols. Officers were directed to ensure effective management and security of Yatra mini-convoys, expedite tenant verification and census drive and enhancing CCTV coverage at all important Yatra locations with dedicated 24×7 monitoring. The DIG reiterated the need for high operational readiness and coordinated efforts to ensure the safe, smooth and successful conduct of SANJY-2026
