NEET paper leak scandal

A fresh controversy has erupted after reports suggested that the Indian Air Force could be used to transport question papers for the re-NEET examination following the massive paper leak scandal.

In a sharply worded opinion piece for ThePrint, retired Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur questioned why military assets should be deployed for exam logistics, arguing that the Air Force's primary role is national security, not compensating for civilian administrative failures.

The criticism comes as authorities scramble to restore credibility to India's largest medical entrance examination after the leak forced a nationwide re-test. Bahadur warned that repeatedly turning to the armed forces to solve civilian governance problems risks diverting valuable military resources from their core mission.

The debate has now expanded beyond NEET itself, with critics asking whether the proposal reflects a breakdown in India's examination system and whether institutions responsible for conducting high-stakes exams have lost public trust.
