MHA Approves Deployment of Two COBRA Battalions in Manipur
Manipur: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the deployment of two battalions of the elite Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (COBRA) from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to strengthen security and restore lasting peace in the violence-hit state.
Official sources stated that the 207 COBRA battalion, based in West Bengal, and the 210 COBRA battalion, stationed in Assam, will be deployed for operational duties in Manipur in the coming weeks. These commandos are expected to conduct targeted operations against armed groups involved in the ongoing violence and unrest in Manipur.
