District Congress Committee Udhampur Stages Powerful Protest Against Fuel and Gas Price Hike

​Udhampur | June 1, 2026: The District Congress Committee Udhampur today staged a massive protest against the skyrocketing prices of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas. The demonstration was led by District President Sumit Malhotra.
​Addressing the gathering, Sumit Malhotra strongly criticized the ruling government for its failure to control inflation. He reminded the BJP of its past behavior, stating that when Congress was in power, BJP leaders would take to the streets to protest even the slightest price increase. Today, with fuel and gas prices hitting record highs, those same leaders remain completely silent.
​The protestors demanded an immediate rollback of taxes on essential fuels to provide relief to the common man, warning of intensified agitations if the government fails to act.
