India's LPG Rules May Be Changing From June 1
Reports suggest several important changes for LPG consumers across India. Under the proposed "One Household, One Connection" policy, households with an active PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connection may be required to surrender their LPG connection.
Key Changes:
🔹 One House, One Connection – Action may be taken if both PNG and LPG are used at the same address.
🔹 ₹10 Lakh Income Limit – LPG subsidy may be discontinued if the annual income of the consumer or spouse exceeds ₹10 lakh.
🔹 OTP-Based Delivery – OTP verification could become mandatory for cylinder delivery.
🔹 Stricter e-KYC & Verification – Authorities may intensify checks on fake, inactive, and duplicate connections.
🔹 Limited Impact in Hill Regions – Areas such as Mussoorie and much of Uttarakhand are expected to see minimal immediate impact due to limited PNG coverage.
