Operation Clean Sweep Brings New Momentum to Cleanliness in Rajam Town

As part of the “Operation Clean Sweep” initiative being carried out with the vision of “One State – One Cleanliness Mission,” officials and representatives of voluntary organizations jointly conducted a special sanitation awareness programme in Rajam town on Thursday.
During the programme, walls identified as “Red and Yellow Spots” were cleaned, whitewashed, and painted, transforming them into “Green Spots.” Officials explained that public places, cinema halls, government offices, and educational institutions are often becoming stained red due to people spitting pan parag, gutka, khaini, and tobacco products on walls. Similarly, urinating near walls has been causing yellow stains and creating unhygienic surroundings.
To prevent such practices and to create awareness among the public about maintaining clean surroundings, the authorities and social organizations undertook this initiative. Officials emphasized that keeping the town clean is the responsibility of every citizen and urged people to avoid activities that damage public hygiene and civic beauty.
Municipal Commissioner A. Ramachandra Rao, Town Circle Inspector K. Ashok Kumar, Sub-Inspector P. Uma Venkateswara Rao, and Sanitary Inspector C.H. Prasad participated in the programme. Representatives from Manavatha Seva Samstha, including Sasapu Satyanarayana, along with Jana Vignana Vedika representatives Valluru Dali Naidu, Arnipalli Venkata Naidu, Gorle Ramesh, and Jakkampudi Sanyasi Raju also took part in the cleanliness drive.
