Eid-ul-Azha: A Festival of Sacrifice and Communal Harmony

Eid-ul-Azha is one of the most significant religious festivals for the Muslim Ummah, rooted in the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Prophet Ismail (AS) towards Allah. The festival symbolizes sacrifice, submission, humanity, compassion, and social harmony, emphasizing inner purity and righteousness over outward rituals as highlighted in the Qur’an and Hadith.

The festival promotes social equality by encouraging the distribution of sacrificial meat among relatives, neighbors, and the poor, fostering brotherhood and compassion. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) emphasized this social responsibility, stating that one is not a true believer if their neighbor is hungry. Eid-ul-Azha also serves as a universal message of peace, coexistence, and mutual respect, urging people to uphold cleanliness, civic responsibility, and environmental awareness as part of their faith.
