Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh Inaugurates Development Works in Kattowal Village

Punjab’s Cabinet Minister for Prisons and NRI Affairs, Dr. Ravjot Singh, inaugurated a newly constructed sports ground in the nearby village of Kattowal and dedicated a solar-powered lift irrigation project built by the Department of Land and Water Conservation to the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh said the Punjab government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously working for the holistic development of villages and strengthening of farmers. He added that the new sports ground will provide youth with opportunities to engage in games and progress in the field of sports.
Dr. Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of villages and farmers, saying the mission to connect every village in Punjab with modern amenities is progressing steadily under the Chief Minister’s leadership.
The Cabinet Minister said the lift irrigation project, completed at an approximate cost of Rs 12 lakh, will be a major boon for local farmers. He noted that the solar-powered scheme will free farmers from power cuts during irrigation and reduce cultivation costs by providing energy at no direct cost.
He added that the Punjab government is bringing modern technologies to village level to strengthen agriculture and make it more profitable, enabling farmers to become economically stronger. Emphasising the need to save water and electricity, he said such solar projects are setting an example for the future. The project will not only benefit farming but also contribute to environmental conservation.
Dr. Singh praised village sarpanch Michael Kumar Bhatti, panch Sarabjit Bhatti, Balwinder Kaur and other panchayat members, saying village development is possible only with public cooperation. He assured villagers that their other demands will be addressed on a priority basis and that every constituency village will be given a new identity of development.
