West Bengal FIR Filed Against Mamata Banerjee Over Sanatan Dharma Remarks
West Bengal: A new political controversy has emerged in West Bengal after an FIR was registered against TMC Chief and former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The FIR pertains to alleged remarks she made about Sanatan Dharma during an Eid gathering in Kolkata last year.
The complaint was filed at the Siliguri Cyber Police Station by advocate Rinki Chatterjee Singh, who accused Mamata Banerjee of using the phrase “ganda dharma” in a public address. The complainant alleges that these remarks insulted the beliefs and sentiments of Sanatan Dharma followers and promoted communal tension, offending religious sentiments.
