J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN INTENSIFIES CRACKDOWN ON RASH AND HELMETLESS RIDERS ACROSS THE DISTRICT
Continuing its strict enforcement against traffic violations, Shopian Police intensified checking drives across the district to ensure road safety and encourage responsible driving habits.
During the ongoing campaign, hundreds of two-wheelers were seized and challaned for various violations including riding without valid documents, rash driving, triple riding, riding without helmets and other offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Special naka points and mobile checking teams were deployed at key locations to verify documents and take immediate action against violators. The drive was aimed at enforcing traffic discipline, preventing accidents and safeguarding the lives of commuters and pedestrians.
Shopian Police urged the public, particularly youth, to strictly follow traffic rules, wear helmets, avoid overspeeding and carry all necessary documents while riding. The department reiterated its commitment towards maintaining road discipline and ensuring safer roads across the district.
