Free Sapling Distribution by NGO 'Jiyo Aur Jeene Do' Outside Eidgah, Adarsh Colony on Eid-ul-Adha; DIG, SSP, DSP, Tehsildar, and MLA Pawan Gupta Attend
Udhampur: On the sacred occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the social organization "Jiyo Aur Jeene Do" (NGO) organized a free sapling distribution and anti-drug awareness campaign right after the prayers outside the Eidgah at Adarsh Colony, Udhampur. The objective of this initiative was to promote environmental conservation and steer the younger generation away from the menace of drug addiction.
The event was graced by MLA Pawan Gupta, DIG Udhampur, SSP Udhampur, DSP Udhampur, and Tehsildar Udhampur, who personally distributed saplings to the public. Prominent citizens of the town, including Pawan Khajuria, Surinder Singh Khalsa, and several local dignitaries, were also present. Following the prayers, a large number of citizens enthusiastically participated in the drive.
Message from DIG Udhampur:
"Protecting the environment and making society drug-free is the greatest need of our time. While the police administration is constantly working towards this cause, the efforts of organizations like 'Jiyo Aur Jeene Do' are truly commendable. Planting trees is the finest gift we can give to our future generations."
Statement from NGO President, Tariq Shah:
"Forests are not just about wood or trees; they are the sanctuaries of mute birds and animals. When forest fires break out, these innocent creatures are burnt alive, and their homes are destroyed. We must protect them. Furthermore, regarding drug eradication, I urge all parents to pay close attention to their children, shower them with love, and become their friends so they do not stray onto the wrong path."
At the conclusion of the event, the NGO President expressed his gratitude to all the officials and residents of the town who contributed to this noble cause.
