Mumbai Police Bust MD Drug Lab, Arrest Three in Agripada

Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai crime branch conducted a significant raid in Agripada, uncovering an alleged mephedrone (MD) manufacturing unit in a rented flat on the tenth floor of Yasmin Tower, a 23-storey residential building. Three individuals, Shoaib Mansuri, 30, Sufiyan Mansuri, 28, both from Null Bazar, South Mumbai, and a woman identified as Sarkar, were arrested during the operation. The accused had converted the kitchen of the apartment into a makeshift laboratory and had reportedly been operating the unit for three months, paying a monthly rent of ₹50,000.

Officials seized approximately 8 kg of liquid MD and nearly 7 kg of processed MD, with an estimated market value of ₹50 crore. A country-made pistol and 19 live cartridges were also recovered. Deputy Commissioner of Police Navnath Dhavale confirmed the seizure of manufacturing equipment, including an LPG gas cylinder. Although the accused have no prior NDPS cases, they are allegedly involved in assault offences. The ANC has custody of the arrested until June 3 and is investigating the supply chain and the network behind the drug distribution across Mumbai.
