Assam Police Issues Child Safety Guidelines for Teachers and Parents

Guwahati: The Assam Police issued a directive on 26th May 2026 emphasizing the safety of children when creating videos or photos. Special attention is required to ensure that children's faces are blurred in reels, photos, or any fun activities. Primary school teachers preparing reels with students must exercise caution and follow these guidelines strictly.

The police outlined eight compulsory guidelines for teachers, parents, and everyone involved. These include refraining from producing posts that identify children, using safe scenes such as blurred photos or group shots, maintaining confidentiality of personal details like names and phone numbers, avoiding publicizing event participation times, and ensuring posts are verified by school authorities before circulation. The effectiveness of this directive remains to be observed.
