After 15 Years of Band Culture, Babai Sen Dares to Dream Big with New Talents Again Shiuli Set for the Big Screen

All India Media Association Report:

For nearly 15 years, the Bengali film industry has often faced criticism over band culture, one-sided dominance, and the lack of opportunities for fresh talents. Over the years, many filmmakers and producers reportedly lost the courage to introduce newcomers to mainstream cinema. Breaking that trend and bringing back hope for new artists, Babai Sen has taken a bold initiative with his upcoming Bengali feature film ‘Shiuli’.
The film is produced by Sushmita Adhikari and Nazim Munsi under the banners of Arshi Group of Company and The Luxurious Living. The distribution responsibility has been taken by SSR Cinema Private Limited, which has also stepped forward in support of encouraging new talents in the Bengali film industry.
Several respected cultural personalities, organizations, and major media houses have extended their support to this initiative. Industry observers believe that projects like ‘Shiuli’ can help create a healthier and more welcoming environment for emerging artists in Bengali cinema.
‘Shiuli’ is more than just a film; it is an emotional story of love, friendship, relationships, and pain revolving around the lives of three friends. One of the major highlights of the film is its beautiful blend of Bengali and South Indian culture, offering audiences a refreshing cinematic experience after a long time.
The film stars Twinkle Barua, Sudip, Rasil, Sudipta Chakraborty, R C Sen, and many others. The performances of the fresh faces and the emotional depth of the story have already generated positive buzz among viewers.
Music is another strong element of the film. ‘Shiuli’ features five romantic and emotional songs, out of which three have already been released on Saregama Bengali. The songs are receiving tremendous love from audiences, gaining millions of views and widespread appreciation across social media platforms.
Babai Sen and the entire team behind the film have requested audiences to support new Bengali cinema and emerging talents. According to the team, audience encouragement and honest appreciation can inspire more filmmakers to work with newcomers and help Bengali cinema move toward a more transparent and inclusive future.
‘Shiuli’ is scheduled to release in theatres on 19th June, carrying with it new dreams, fresh faces, and a renewed hope for Bengali cinema.
