Bidar: The city's Basavagiri is fully prepared for the two-day Basavotsava organized by the Lingayat Maha Math to mark the second commemoration of Akka Annapurnatai. All arrangements, including the stage, pavilion, accommodation for devotees, and prasadam, have been completed. The Aikya Mantapa dedicated to Akka Annapurnatai has been specially decorated. Ramesh Mathapati, head of the Lingayat Maha Math, said that about four thousand Basavanai followers from Bidar, neighboring districts, and states are expected to participate. Accommodation for these devotees has been arranged at the Guru Nanak Residential Home, with seating capacity for three thousand people in the pavilion.

Various meaningful programs will be conducted over the two days. Prasad arranged for devotees includes traditional dishes such as peanut holige, crushed wheat huggi, chapati, white jowar roti, palya, peanut hindi, curd, rice, sambar, and buttermilk. The event's success is supported by 14 committees, the Lingayat Seva Dal, and Neelammana Balaga. Prabhu Deva Swamiji of the Lingayat Maha Math, along with committee office bearers, inspected the preparations on Friday.

The Basavotsava events on May 23 include a group recitation of sacred texts with notable figures like Prabhudev Swamiji, Shivananda Swamiji, and others.
