Telangana has emerged as a national benchmark..Reventhreddy, Chief Minister, Telangana...

HYDERABAD, 22.MAY. 2026:
Telangana has emerged as a national benchmark and a guiding light in conducting a comprehensive caste survey, asserted Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy, following the Supreme Court's landmark validation of including a caste-based count within census operations. Welcoming the apex court's ruling, he described it as a highly progressive development that reinforces the vision of the state.

In light of the Supreme Court's endorsement, the Chief Minister demanded that the Central Government immediately incorporate a caste census into the upcoming national population census. He reminded that the Telangana government has already taken the lead by successfully executing its own extensive caste survey across the state.

He highlighted that the state government has compiled and placed detailed insights before the public after conducting a meticulous socio-economic, educational, employment, and political survey. This transformative initiative, he noted, has effectively eliminated the sense of insecurity that had long prevailed among the weaker sections.

“The Supreme Court has now legally validated the caste census, which is a highly welcoming development. We consider the apex court's endorsement of Telangana's vision as a profound honor for our state,” the Chief Minister remarked. He added that the government takes immense pride in delivering a permanent and historic solution to a complex issue that lingered for over a century.
