Samba Police Arrest Drug Peddler with Heroin-Like Substance

Samba: On May 20, 2026, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and recovered approximately 03 grams of heroin-like substance (chitta) from his possession. The arrest was made during a drive against drug smugglers and peddlers.

Acting on information from reliable sources, a police team intercepted a motorcycle with registration No. JK02AV-0734 at NHW Naka Tapyal coming from the Kathua side. Upon frisking, the heroin-like substance was found. The accused has been identified as Chander Paul Singh S/o Jagdish Singh, resident of Nathwal, Rajinder Pura, tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba. The contraband and motorcycle were seized, and FIR No. 51/2026 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ghagwal with investigation underway.
