Bidar Unit Demands Action Against Illegal Cow Trafficking During Bakrid
Bidar: Ahead of the Bakrid festival on May 28, the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Bidar district unit submitted a request to Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara through the District Collector. The request demands immediate special action to prevent illegal cow trafficking, cow slaughter, and to maintain law and order across the state during the festival period.
The petition highlights concerns over possible illegal transportation and slaughter of cows, buffaloes, and calves despite the Cow Slaughter Ban and Cow Protection Act in Karnataka. The organization's office bearers, including district president Venkatesh Shali Chidri, vice president Vasanth Subhanje, and general secretary Sandeep Patil, emphasized that such incidents threaten law and order and hurt Hindu religious sentiments. They called for 24-hour special check posts on highways and district borders, strict vehicle inspections, and compulsory verification of transport documents. The petition also demanded additional police security in sensitive areas to maintain social harmony.
