Bidar: Demand for Action Against Illegal Cow Trafficking During Bakrid
Bidar: Ahead of the Bakrid festival on May 28, the Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Bidar district unit submitted a request to Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara via the District Collector. The request calls for immediate special action to prevent illegal cow trafficking, cow slaughter, and to maintain law and order in the state during the festival.
The petition highlights concerns over the illegal transportation and slaughter of cows, buffaloes, and calves in various parts of Karnataka despite the Cow Slaughter Ban and Cow Protection Act being in force. It mentions past complaints of illegal cow slaughter occurring on roadsides, residential areas, and temporary sheds, which threatens law and order and hurts the religious sentiments of the Hindu community. The petition demands 24-hour special check posts on highways and strict vehicle inspections, along with legal enforcement and additional police security in sensitive areas. Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Bidar leaders including district president Venkatesh Shali Chidri, vice president Vasanth Subhanje, and others were present during the submission.
