UP: BDO suspended for harassing female subordinate in Ballia

BALLIA (UP): (May 17) The block development officer (BDO) of Pandah panchayat here has been suspended for allegedly harassing a female subordinate and sending obscene messages, a senior official said on Sunday.

Chief Development Officer (CDO) Ojasvi Raj told PTI that BDO Shravan Kumar Gupta was suspended by the state government on Saturday following a complaint lodged by the woman employee.

According to the complaint submitted May 8, the BDO allegedly engaged in obscene conversations with the female employee on WhatsApp, and subjected her to harassment.
