Bidar Police Launches Akka Pade for Women and Child Safety

Bidar District: The Special Women Police Team of Bidar District Police Department initiated the "Akka Pade" awareness program focused on traffic rules and safety for women, children, and students. Under the leadership of Shri Pradeep Gunti, IPS, Superintendent of Police, the initiative aims to protect vulnerable groups by educating senior citizens and youth in Sindanakera village of Chitaguppa Taluk. The program emphasizes that children under 18 years should not drive vehicles and highlights the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts.

The Akka Pade team also created awareness on violence prevention, the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), women’s safety, and provided information about helpline numbers such as 1098 for children, 112 for emergencies, and 1930 for cybercrime. They addressed the negative effects of children using mobile phones and reassured the community of their constant support for safety and protection. The officers and staff of Akka Pade were commended for their continuous 24×7 service to women and students.
