Karnataka Finalizes Sites for Bengaluru's Second International Airport

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government is in the final stages of selecting the location for Bengaluru's second international airport. Two frontrunner sites on Kanakapura Road, specifically Chudahalli and Somanahalli in South Bengaluru, are being considered due to their proximity to the city and strong connectivity potential. These sites lie within Bangalore Urban and Ramanagara districts.

A third site near Nelamangala along the Kunigal-Tumakuru Road is also under technical and economic feasibility studies. This western corridor site includes identified land for a 5,200-acre project with strategic highway and regional access. The final decision will be made after completing and approving multidisciplinary feasibility studies to address future aviation capacity needs.
