PM, CM extend greetings to people of Sikkim on 51st Statehood Day

GANGTOK: (May 16) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted the people of Sikkim on the occasion of the 51st Statehood Day, and said that the contribution of the Himalayan state to Indias development is "deeply valued".

In a letter to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Modi vowed to extend support and cooperation to Sikkim for its tourism and economic development.

Sikkim became the 22nd state of India in 1975.
