Language department invites anti-war poems for 'Jan Sahit' special issue

Under the leadership of Director Jaswant Singh Zafar, the Language Department, Punjab, Patiala, is continuing its activities to promote Punjabi language and culture. As part of this programme, one of the four magazines published by the department 'Jan Sahit' will bring out a special issue on "Anti-war Poems" for OctoberDecember 2026.
Speaking in detail, District Language Officer (Research Officer) Dr Jaswant Rai said the department is planning the special issue to encourage empathic sentiments and reflective thinking that can help the world recover from recent wars between various countries and make the future safer, happier and more peaceful. Literature has in the past played a role in shaping such an atmosphere through its sensibilities. Therefore, contributions from poets of Hoshiarpur district are being solicited.
Poems should be sent as Word files to the District Language Officer, Hoshiarpur, at dlo.language.hsp@gmail.com by June 15, 2026, or submitted in person at the office. While submitting, poets must ensure their work is original and unpublished, and include their full address and phone number.
