Poonch, May 14, 2026: Under the able leadership and direct guidance of Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer, Poonch, a high-impact Sensitization-cum-Training Session was organized today at the CMO Office Conference Hall for all Municipality ASHA Workers to strengthen the ongoing 100 Days TB Campaign Phase-2 under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The Session was attended by Dy CMO, DTO and DTC staff

Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan personally directed the training and motivated the ASHA workers to play a proactive and decisive role in achieving the campaigns objectives. He emphasized that early detection is the key to eliminating TB and urged the frontline workers to leave no stone unturned in mobilizing the community.

Key Directives Issued During the Session:
- Intensive screening camps will be conducted in all municipal wards using Handheld X-ray Machines.
- ASHA workers must ensure maximum coverage by motivating all eligible individuals, especially those above 14 years of age and non-pregnant women, for Chest X-ray screening.

- All persons with abnormal X-ray findings shall be immediately subjected to NAAT testing.
- Complete data of screening, diagnosis, and treatment must be uploaded on the Nikshay Portal** on the same day.

Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan asserted that with disciplined execution, active community participation, and the dedicated efforts of ASHA workers, Poonch district will make significant progress towards becoming **TB-free**. He called upon all stakeholders to work with full commitment so that the vision of TB Mukt Bharat is realized at the earliest.
