Aurad: Support Grows for Gopal Singh Thakur's Hunger Strike Against SIR and EVM
Aurad: Members of the Bidar District Anti-SIR Janandolana Samiti visited social activist Gopal Singh Thakur, who is conducting a solitary hunger strike at the tehsil office premises in Aurad town. The leaders expressed their full support for his protest against the Special Comprehensive Revision of Voters (SIR) and Electronic Voting Machines (EVM), describing the process as unconstitutional and a threat to the rights of voters.
Gopal Singh Thakur stated that the SIR has deprived lakhs of people of their right to vote and emphasized his aim to abolish both the SIR and EVM systems to protect democratic values. His hunger strike has completed 11 days and is planned to continue for 21 more days. Several leaders including Abdul Mannan Seth, Omprakash Rotte, Nizamuddin, Dr. Maqsood Chanda, and others visited the protest site to show solidarity and announced plans for a conference in Aurad to raise awareness about SIR and EVM.
