Gwalior Residents Complain of Illegal Mining Despite Police Action

Gwalior: Residents of Gurukripa Nagar Adityapuram Phase-II have raised serious concerns over ongoing illegal mining activities that persist despite repeated complaints to authorities. The mining involves deep excavation creating a pit nearly 20 feet deep, rendering heavy machinery like JCB machines invisible from ground level. Operations reportedly continue throughout the night with multiple tractors and JCB machines, accompanied by loud music disturbing nearby families.

Locals reported submitting numerous complaints to the police helpline (112) and municipal officials. The Maharajpura police team conducted a raid, temporarily seizing one JCB machine and several tractors. However, residents say the operators returned within two days with additional machinery, resuming mining activities. The excavation threatens soil stability and nearby residential properties, prompting demands for strict and permanent administrative action to stop illegal mining and ensure local safety.
