Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders from Nawanshahr and Banga constituencies honoured Dharminder Kumar Tony on his appointment as state general secretary of the party's business and industry wing by the SAD high command.
SAD Nawanshahr's Ajrbar and Kaur committee member Kamal Chetli, district president Sukhdeep Singh Shukar, farmers' wing president Satnam Singh Ladian, Banga constituency president Jaswinder Singh Maan, Iqbal Singh Bajwa, Jagjit Singh Khalsa, and former MLA Mohan Lal Banga presented Tony with a siropa and wished him a bright future. On this occasion, the gathered leaders discussed strengthening the SAD and strategies for the 2027 assembly elections.
While honouring Tony, Kamal Chetli and district president Sukhdeep Singh Shukar stated that his appointment would immensely strengthen the SAD's business and industry wing. Sukhdeep Singh Shukar congratulated the new appointee and assured full cooperation for the party's progress and strength.
Tony expressed gratitude to SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and assured the entire organization of his dedicated and honest efforts to bolster the party. He declared that under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal and senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia, the elections would be won with dignity this time. "The public will not fall into the trap of parties trying to deceive them," he added.
Tony emphasized linking traders to the party to strengthen the business community. He asserted that only SAD has consistently advocated for traders' rights and will remain steadfast in this regard. He predicted that the next Punjab government would be formed under Sukhbir Singh Badal's leadership, noting that Punjab's development occurred solely during SAD regimes, while others merely looted the state.
Praising Badal's visionary approach, Tony said the people of Punjab are extending full support. He pledged unwavering commitment to the party's strengthening, ensuring its policies reach every household, and highlighted public nostalgia for the SAD government due to late former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's welfare schemes that satisfied all sections of society.
