Rajasthan Paper Leak Case Under CBI Investigation

Rajasthan: The paper leak case originated from Sikar and Jaipur, major coaching hubs, where a 'guess paper' reached students on May 1, ahead of the May 3 exam. The paper was sold between Rs 20,000 to 2 lakh, rising to Rs 30,000 near the exam. The Special Operations Group (SOG) suspects a connection with a MBBS student from Churu studying in Kerala, who sent the material to a friend in Sikar. This material spread through PG hostels, coaching groups, and career counselors.

SOG reported that over 140-150 questions from a handwritten question bank matched the NEET exam out of 300+ questions. Similar leaks also surfaced in Maharashtra's Latur and Nashik, with messages widely forwarded on Telegram and WhatsApp. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR under multiple sections, including the Public Examination Prevention of Unfair Means Act 2024, and is conducting extensive investigations, including raids and questioning over 45 people. Manish from Jaipur is identified as the mastermind. NTA is cooperating with the investigation by sharing digital data and records.

Preventive steps include enforcement of the new Public Examination Act, blocking fake leak claims on social media by NTA, and a thorough CBI probe into organized syndicates using encrypted apps. NTA DG announced strict action against all culprits and a transparent re-exam scheduled within 7-10 days, with no need for fresh registration and full fee refunds for students. The investigation is ongoing, and official updates will be available on nta.ac.in.
