Tamil Nadu ke naye Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay ne state me 717 TASMAC liquor shops band karne ka order diya hai. Reports ke mutabiq yeh woh dukanein hain jo schools, religious places aur bus stands ke 500 meter ke daire me chal rahi thi. Government ne kaha hai ke in tamam shops ko do hafte ke andar band kiya jayega. Yeh Vijay government ka pehla bada faisla mana ja raha hai aur isse unke addiction-free Tamil Nadu vision ka hissa bataya ja raha hai.

Tamil Nadu me filhal 4700 se zyada TASMAC shops chal rahi hain aur state revenue ka bada hissa sharab ki sale se aata hai. Reports ke mutabiq band hone wali shops me 276 religious places ke paas, 186 educational institutions ke paas aur 255 bus stands ke qareeb hain. Is faisle ko kai social aur religious groups ne support kiya hai, jabke kuch logon ka kehna hai ke isse state revenue par asar padega.
