PM Modi's Message to India: Prepare, Not Panic

As tensions continue in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Indians to use petrol, diesel and LPG with great restraint, revive Covid-era work-from-home habits where possible, reduce unnecessary travel, and become more energy conscious.

Behind the appeal lies a deeper concern:
A world connected by oceans, oil routes and supply chains can feel the impact of distant wars within days.

For hill states like Uttarakhand, the message carries even greater weight. Every fuel tanker climbs fragile mountain roads. Every LPG cylinder supports homes, tourism and the Char Dham Yatra. In places like Mussoorie, even small supply disruptions create immediate anxiety.

India is not under emergency conditions. But the governments tone suggests preparedness, caution and conservation are now being treated as national responsibilities.

Perhaps this is the reality of modern times:

Wars no longer arrive only through borders.
Sometimes they arrive through fuel routes, markets, uncertainty and silence itself.
