Kuki Women Union General Secretary Arrested in Drug Case

Security forces in Manipur have reportedly arrested the General Secretary of the Kuki Women Union along with two others after intercepting vehicles at a naka checkpoint in Senapati district on May 7.

According to reports, suspected brown sugar weighing around 1.140 kg, cash, mobile phones, and two vehicles were seized during the operation.

The incident has triggered fresh debate and public concern over the alleged involvement of individuals linked to social organisations in Manipurs growing drug network. Authorities are expected to continue investigation into the case.
