National Lok Adalat Settles 26 of 36 Cases, Collects 3,400 in Revenue at Semiliguda.

Report by Nishapati Nayak (Sub-Editor ) SEMILIGUDA, 10/05/2026 The Semiliguda JMFC Court and Gram Nyayalaya jointly conducted a National Lok Adalat on Saturday, settling 26 of the 36 cases taken up and collecting approximately 3,400 in revenue.

The proceedings were held under the chairmanship of Shri Aakash Mohapatro, Civil Judge (Jr. Division)-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class, and Ms. Shrutakirti Acharya, Nyayadhikari, Gram Nyayalaya, Semiliguda.

Gram Nyayalaya disposed of 8 out of 13 cases and realized 3,400 in court fees and penalties. Meanwhile, the JMFC Court closed 18 out of 23 cases, including two matrimonial disputes and one case under the Negotiable Instruments Act. A few matters were referred for FRT (Further Report/Tracking).

The Lok Adalat saw active participation from officials of Utkal Bank, IOB, Union Bank, BOI and other financial institutions. Also present were President Santosh Dash, Advocates Ramesh Ch. Pradhan, Surendra K. Khora, Soubhangini Parija, Satya Padhy, Sitaram Pattnaik, B. Rajguru, Sanjay Jha (APP), and the entire court staff.

President Santosh Dash & Bar Association members played a key role in mobilizing litigants and coordinating between banks and the court, ensuring smooth facilitation of settlements and wider public awareness of the Lok Adalat.

Judicial officers said the initiative helped litigants resolve disputes amicably and quickly, reducing the pendency burden while reinforcing public confidence in accessible justice at the taluk level.
