Software engineer robbed, thrown off bridge in Dehradun; condition critical

DEHRADUN: (May 10) A software engineer was allegedly assaulted, robbed and thrown off a bridge by two persons here, police said on Saturday.

The victim's father, Vinod Kumar, lodged a written complaint in which he stated that his 23-year-old son, Akash Kumar, was waiting for a bike taxi at Sahastradhara crossing around 2.15 am on Thursday after finishing his night shift when two men on a scooter allegedly forcibly took him to Jamunwala Bridge near the Hanuman Temple.

Akash was assaulted and robbed of two mobile phones and Rs 600 in cash. He was then thrown off the bridge, the complaint stated.
