Sushil Meher becomes a royal guest at Kansa Darbar at Kumbhari village
In the lokakala village of Kumhari under Barpali block of Bargarh district, the Krishnalila, composed by Vipra Sadashiv two hundred years ago, has been going on for two months. This mythological story has been traditionally performed by the village artists according to the tradition of teachers and disciples. A grand gathering of art, literature and culture takes place on this occasion. Like every year, this year the Krishnalila festival is being celebrated with great pomp. Now the court of Maharaja Kansa is going on from Krishnalila. Sushil Meher, who played the role of Kansa in the world-famous Dhanu Yatra festival of Bargarh, Narendra Kumar Hota, Chairman of Barpali Pharmacy College, and Kumhari Panchayat Agriculture Officer Dhiren Bhoi joined as royal guests. The art lovers were mesmerized. The programme was arranged by Brajeshwari Natyakala Sansad President Ketan Sahu. Sevananda Nayak performed flawlessly in the role of Kansa, while Mahamansi Shakrajit Ramji Padhan, Mahamansi Anadashta Chaturbhuja Sahu, Senapati Vajradrashta Narottama Padhan, Senapati Hans Dhwaj Somnath Mahapatra, Chandur Madhu Sa, Mustik Umesh Bhoi, Sunama Biranchi Sahu, Nilipasur Nilip Chirguna, Sal Swastik Padhan, Sanku Srinegi are playing the role. While Krishnaleela is sung by Nimayin Patel, the musical accompaniment is provided by the artists.
