Howrah: A tense situation unfolded near the Tikiapara signal area around 1:10 PM on Thursday when an allegedly intoxicated toto driver was accused of assaulting a police officer during a traffic confrontation. The incident occurred near the busy Dasnagar-Tikiapara stretch as traffic police attempted to stop the driver for reckless driving. Witnesses claimed the driver appeared under the influence and became aggressive after being questioned.

Eyewitnesses reported that a heated argument escalated into a physical altercation, with the driver attacking the police officer in public view.
