India, Asia Records Books take note of roadblock section constructed using end-of-life plastic
NEW DELHI: (May 6) The first-time use of textile geocell made from end-of-life plastic to construct a roadblock section has earned CSIR-Central Road Research Institute and BPCL a spot in the Book of Records of India as well as Asia.
The technology deployed for the construction involved the development and application of technical textile geocell -- a three-dimensional honeycomb-like cellular structure -- manufactured from processed end-of-life plastic.
The feat has paved the way for an innovative pathway for converting difficult-to-manage plastic waste into value-added infrastructure material.
