A journey of struggle and hard work, Jagynaseni Mahakur is a student who secured first place in Political Science at Sambalpur University

Jagynaseni Mahakur is a resident of Kumbari village in Barpali block. Her father's name is Chandrasekhar Mahakur and her mother's name is Nilendri Mahakur. She is not only their child, but also their hope, pride and future companion.
She was a good and hardworking student since childhood. When her father was alive, she was studying at Saraswati Sishubidya Mandir, Barpali. But when she was in the fourth standard and only 9 years old, a sudden tragedy happened in her life, Chandrasekhar Mahakur suddenly fell ill in 2015 and passed away. She was the only hope of the family. After her father's death, everything became difficult. Jagynaseni's mother took all the responsibility single-handedly. Since that day, she worked tirelessly and gave up her own comforts and tried for a better future for me.
Then I enrolled in Kumbari Government School. My mother single-handedly raised me and made many sacrifices to complete my matriculation education. I passed my matriculation in the first division with 88.33% marks from Government High School, Kumbari in 2021. Every sacrifice, every sleepless night and the struggle hidden in the shadows has always motivated me to grow, says Jagynaseni Mahakur.
After matriculation, I studied +2 Arts at Jagabandhu Dash Women's Higher Secondary School, Kadilipali. In 2023, I passed my matriculation in the first division with 78.33% marks and studied my graduation at Jagabandhu Dash Degree Women's College, Kardilipali. During my +3 studies, with the support of the colleges Antyami Panda and Principal Padmini Dash. I got the opportunity to attend the state-level YRC camp and was also awarded under the direction of Jatindra Kumar Sahu. This opportunity is the result of the support and blessings of my college and teachers.
There were days in my life when I almost gave up. During my sixth semester exams, my mother fell seriously ill. At that time, I had to handle everything single-handedly housework, cooking, looking after my mother and studying. Sleeping became a nightmare for me. Finally, the day of the university results came and I passed in the sixth semester with 9.76 marks. I was very happy then, but also hopeful. After some time, the top 10 list was published. I secured first place in Political Science from Sambalpur University with the highest CGPA of 8.90. At that moment, tears also flowed from my eyes, but this time they were not tears of sadness, but tears of victory. My mother was sitting next to me and she was also very happy to hear this. Then she said calmly that if your father were alive today, he would be very happy. At that moment, all the sleepless nights, struggles and sacrifices seemed to be worth it. I express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents, Antaryami Panda, Padmini Dash , class teachers Poonam and Sasmita and every teacher and staff of the college. Everyone's guidance, patience and inspiration have played a big role in my success. Circumstances do not define a person, ideas and efforts determine him. Jagynaseni Mahakur, who started from the struggles of a small house and reached the top of the university, said.
