Bihar Education Department Faces Salary Delays for 79,000 Teachers
Patna: The Bihar Education Department is experiencing significant delays in salary disbursements for approximately 79,000 regular teachers due to technical issues with HRMS and PFMS portals. These delays are attributed to problems with processors, servers, and banking satellites, causing disruptions across all 38 district education offices. Despite ongoing efforts, the department has been unable to resolve these issues fully, affecting teachers' payments for up to three months.
Dr. Shadab Qasim of the Research Institute, MM Colony Siwan, Bihar, highlighted that these salary delays have caused serious hardships among teachers and their families, including food shortages and inability to meet basic expenses. The department has cited budget constraints and pending approvals linked to loans and government financial management as contributing factors. The education department and Bihar government are urged to address the payment backlog promptly to avoid further distress among educators.
